ENERGY TRANSITION IS ON: SOLAR ISTANBUL FAIR OPENED ITS DOORS WITH THOUSANDS OF VISITORS 

Solar Istanbul Fair and Conference, the meeting point of the region’s solar energy sector, opened its doors with thousands of visitors. With great interest worldwide, Solar Istanbul has become a center for the region’s new solar power plant projects with a trade volume of 100 billion dollars. 

Fair Opening Speeches Made a Big Impact 

Abdullah Tancan said that "We are 8th in Europe and 16th in the world in Solar Power.’’

Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Abdullah Tancan, who attended the Solar Istanbul opening via online connection, reported that Turkey's installed power in solar energy has reached about 8,000 megawatts.  

Tancan stated that the share of solar energy in renewable energy installed power is 14.8 percent, adding, "We are 8th in Europe and 16th in the world in solar installed power."  

Keynote Speakers Emphasized Energy Transformation and Resource Diversity

Among the keynote speakers are Memis Kütükcü, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Upper Organization of Organized Industrial Zones, Tuzla Mayor Dr. Shadi Yazici and TBMM San., Tic., Energy, Natural Kay., Bilgi ve Tek. Kom. President Ziya Altunyaldiz stated that Turkey has made breakthroughs, especially in the fields of energy transformation and resource diversity in recent years.  

Turkish Companies Open to the World with Solar Istanbul in Solar Energy


The Solar Istanbul Fair, which contributed greatly to the solar energy sector and attracted nearly 100 leading companies and over 8,000 domestic and foreign visitors, was attended by professional buyer delegations from Germany, England, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Greece, Moldova, India, Azerbaijan, Lebanon, Jordan, UAE, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, Algeria, Israel and Ethiopia. At the fair, thousands of state-of-the-art products related to solar energy also met their buyers.

Solar Istanbul 2022 became the Key Hub of the Solar Energy Sector


In Solar Istanbul, which contributes greatly to the volume of the solar energy sector and export momentum, national and international platforms, associations operating in the solar energy sector and important companies including Huawei, Zorlu Energy, Siemens, Vergo, Kontek Energy, Smart Energy, Göktekin Energy, SolarEdge, HSA Solar, Şişecam, Istanbul Energy, TEHAD, Daxler, Fimer, Efes Energy and Asunim participated.

Great Interest in Floating SSP, Agriculture SSP, Green Hydrogen and Storage

Solar Istanbul's sessions for the sector as well as the fair attracted attention. As well as floating GES, agriculture SSP, green hydrogen and storage conferences, Turkish investors and new markets were among the important session topics. Solar Istanbul, which hosts a total of 25 conferences that will continue for three days, has brought a new breath and perspective to both the solar energy sector and other sectors and new investors. At the same time, domestic and foreign experts took part in the sessions where they were evaluated in their latest developments in energy storage, electric transportation and digitalization. Hundreds of innovative and state-of-the-art products related to the sector were also exhibited at the fair.

THE MOST IMPORTANT NAMES OF THE INDUSTRY TALK ABOUT ENERGY

The sectoral views of Garanti Bank Deputy General Manager Ebru Edin, Sanko CEO Hakan Yildirim, EnergySA Production CEO Ihsan Erbil Bayçöl, Enerturk Deputy General Manager Ibrahim Erden were included in the session on Post-Pandemic Energy Transformation Planning moderated by EPDK President Advisor Fakir Huseyin Erdogan. The views of Limak Deputy General Manager Can Miller, Akfen Board Member Kürşat Tezkan, Asunim Co-Founder Umut Gürbüz, Fimer Team Leader Filiz Carer about the transition with hybrid systems were included in the session of Grid Scale GES Projects in Energy Transformation, moderated by EPDK Department Head Deniz Dasdan: YEKA GES and Hybrid Power Plants session. Renowned Technology Writer-Journalist Serdar Kuzuloglu also gave a different perspective to the fair as an invited-speaker.
